Meet the Street Fuel coupe racing Team

Kurt "The wrench"
The first nitro race that I attended was with Dale and Radar. I remember saying to Dale that I was going to stay out of the way. Then Dale said, "you're the bottom end guy, get under there!" That was over 20 years ago with the Orange Crate front engine dragster, our competitors called us the children of the corn because we were from Iowa. I've been hooked ever since. The funny part is that Dale didn't know me and didn't know if I could even turn a wrench! Good thing for him I went to a Ford sponsored automotive school when I was 14!
Mark "the engineer"
I met Brian when I was 18. I have been working on/ building cars since before that. I I also have a background working at a cylinder head shop in college. In addition to that, I had many years working at a professional race engine shop. My educational background is a degree in Mechanical Design. Work as an Application Engineer. I have worked on the Street Fuel Coupe for the last 11 years, competed with Brian in 4 Drag weeks, nostalgia drag races, and now Nitro Chaos. In my spare time, I have been building a 1968 Hemi S/S clone and a 1980 Volare street car.
Jerry "the fabricator"
At 17, I moved to Southern California and worked for Denver’s choppers building springer front ends, frames and fuel hydro safety cages. Then worked for my dad at Chubby Chassis in Racine, WI building 35 thru 48 ford complete chassis and IFS for everything you could think of. I also developed kits for street rod applications, suspensions and brake systems mostly. I have helped Brian with many things on this car and help with all fabrication efforts needing to be done. I narrowed the rearend and fabricated removable wheel tubs when he went with larger tires. Recently I the straightened axle, frame and fixed the body after the big crash in Texas. I also fabricated the stands and drain pan we use between rounds.
jeff "the camera"
I have been part of the Street Fuel Coupe Racing Team for the past year. I have been around nostalgia drag racing for the last 25 years and have been working on preserving that history. I am the "camera" of the team and take care of the social media along with helping service the car between rounds. in addition, I enjoy muscle cars, building engines, and attending nostalgia drag racing events.

Randy "Mr. Fix it"
First time I met Brian was back in 2000 when he was running a 65 A/FX coronet with a blown nitro Hemi at George Ray's dragstrip in Paragould, AR. I was one of a very few people that George let stay around and watch the fire burnout he did with that car and I immediately went home and the following weekend I went and bought a 65 coronet from a local yard and built my first A/FX car, it’s all his fault I’m into A/FX cars! I’ve had 6 A/FX cars over the years and currently own and operate a 64 Dodge 330 sedan called Poison Ivey's Dodge, which was a real A/FX car in 1965-67. I got reacquainted with Brian in about 2016 at Meltdown Drags while running my front engine dragster and since then I have kept in contact with him a lot over the years, even fixed his fuel pump drive once at my shop, when he was running at my home track Mokan Dragway. The fuel pump drive broke and I wanted to see him make a fast pass, so I took it home fixed it on my lathe, and he made a 7 second pass in the street fuel coupe that he runs today. I helped him run the Street Fuel Coupe last year at Mokan Dragway at a Nitro Chaos event, but due to life reasons, I was unable to travel with the team last year. But I feel blessed to be able to travel with and be a part of the team to help run the Street Fuel Coupe.
